My Projects is my place to share my craft as I attempt to make a handmade wardrobe.
I finished my Vermonter this past January and it is the first of my #2017MakeNine projects completed! This winter hat has texture, uses a bulky yarn for fast knitting, and is topped with a pompom!
I chose a beautiful bright red super soft, super bulky wool yarn. This pattern is simple with a switch off of knit and purl rows to create the ridges. I love the texture that it creates!
Yarn: Plymouth Yarn- de Aire in color 2060 Bethlehem. 100% Merino. Super Bulky. *Sad to report this yarn is now discontinued.
Craft: Knitting (in the round)
Needles: Size 11 (8.0 mm)
Verdict: While an easy knit, the pattern runs small. I frogged this once before casting on more stitches to get it to a closer size to what I needed and it's still not a generous fit. I ended up casting on 52 should you choose to make one. I love the yarn! As mentioned, super sad it is discontinued but happy that I bought enough to make a hat that goes so well with my Drop Stitch Cowl.
