My Projects: Chicane Lite

EDIT: Please visit my new site ATELIER DE LAPORTE for sewing and knitting workshops and all things handmade.

My Projects is my place to share my craft as I attempt to make a handmade wardrobe.

I can't believe in the midst of knitting for the shop, I actually finished a project for myself! Finally a new sweater for me, and a new My Projects post for you. Slow fashion, is well, slow but so much more rewarding.

This is my new favorite fall outfit; perfect for a late morning walk followed by apple cider doughnuts. We photographed this in early November at Brooklyn's Green-Wood Cemetery.

Craft: Knitting

Pattern: Chicane by Jimenez Josephs. Available on Ravelry for $6.75. I used the Lite version.

Yarn: Knit Picks Gloss (Merino & Silk) Fingering in Guava.

Verdict: Absolutely love! Lace knitting stitches are a favorite of mine so I absolutely love this sweater. It is a project you need to pay attention to. Skills gained- unknitting to correct my mistakes. Ouch! In the end though it was worth it. I love this yarn too. It is quite warm and the color is fantastic!

Have you knitted yourself anything recently?  In what ways do you include sustainable or slow fashion into your wardrobe?
